As most of you are aware, once again, the Governor has provided us with an update on the status of Drive Through/Drive In and Modified In-Person graduation ceremonies. Although at first glance, it seems as though the Governor opened the door to a program similar to what we have become accustomed to. However, the word “Modified” is part of the plan and is still part of the unknown. For your information, the district has already committed to a professional production of a virtual High School graduation and Middle School promotion, which we are presently preparing and will be shared during the last week of school.
As promised, the district is also looking into how we can provide a Modified In-Person graduation ceremony sometime after July 5, 2020 that complies with the guidance provided by the state. We are also aware that many believe that this is just another simple decision that can be made to honor our 2020 graduates.
Unfortunately, a number of questions still remain unanswered by the state and the Department of Education. Be assured that we are in constant contact with the Bergen County Superintendents, the County office, and the local police department and continue to explore all of our options. We hope everyone has gotten a chance to view the senior banners displayed along on New Milford Avenue.
