The District was recently informed of a second individual who tested positive for the COVID-19 virus at Selzer School. Although there was minimal contact with students and staff, after consulting with District health officials, the Bergen County Health Department, the Dumont Board of Education and the County Education Office concerning the status of this latest report, the Bergen County Health Department has recommended that Selzer School be changed to an All-Virtual format. In addition, we were also informed that an individual at Grant School has also reported to test positive. Once again, the Dumont Public School staff has been working diligently to contact everyone involved. Due to the number of reported cases, the shortage of available staff, and in the interest of the health and safety of all involved, the Dumont District will be operating on an All-Virtual format for all students beginning on Friday, November 20, 2020 until Friday, December 4, 2020, with a tentative return to the Hybrid format on Monday, December 7, 2020. An updated message will be forthcoming in the event that a change to this schedule becomes necessary.
