Residency Requirements

 All residents who are registering new students for the first time must verify residency, by appointment only, at the Superintendent's Office in the David Dervitz Education Center, 25 Depew Street. To make an appointment, call 201 387-1600 or 201-338-8933. After proof of residency is established, the Superintendent's Office will issue a Certificate of Residency which will be taken to the school the child will attend.  The school will then issue a registration packet.  The following  items are required to register your child for school in Dumont.


SUPPLY EITHER:
New Jersey Photo Driver License     -OR-     New Jersey Non-Driver License Card

SUPPLY ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
Original deed     -OR-    
Mortgage Statement     -OR-    
Lease*
*NOTE: If a lease is used for proof of residency, a Landlord Affidavit and cancelled check showing payment or rent for a current period and a lease termination date clearly indicated on the agreement are required.

SUPPLY THREE of the following statements showing family name and Dumont address:
  1. 1.  Recent Public Service Electric & Gas bill
  2. 2.  Television bill (Cablevision, Verizon, Satellite)
  3. 3.  Telephone bill
  4. 4.  United Water Resources bill
  5. 5.  Current Bank Statement
  6. 6.  New Jersey Motor Vehicle Registration showing a Dumont address and family name. (If the vehicle is leased and the address displayed is that of the bank, then the vehicle lease invoice showing the Dumont address may be used in addition to the registration.)
A separate Certificate of Residency form must be completed for each child in the district.
