Kindergarten Registration 2027-2028

The Dumont School District offers full-day Kindergarten for all eligible students at each of our elementary schools.

If your child will be five years old on or before October 1st, your child is eligible to enroll in Kindergarten for the 2027–2028 school year. There are no exceptions to this age requirement.

Kindergarten Preregistration will open in January 2027.

Please Note: If your child currently attends the Pre-K4 program in Selzer School, please do not complete this form as your child will be a returning student in the fall. Please contact Kelly Consiglio at (201) 338-8933 to schedule an appointment to verify residency.

Gather Required Documents: Before starting, collect the necessary documents. You will need these as part of the registration process. Document requires are listed on the registration page.

- Complete Online Pre-Registration: Click this LINK to complete the pre-registration.
- Submit Required Paperwork: Upload your residency documents into the portal and make an appointment to come in and submit the remaining documents. Students are not considered enrolled until the necessary documents are furnished.
- Enrollment Review and Placement: After pre-registration is complete, enrollment will be reviewed. Placement will be finalized in August. *The Dumont Public School District reserves the right to place a child at any of our elementary schools based on enrollment.*
- All families will be required to schedule an in-person appointment: You will need to present your child's original birth certificate and any notarized documents or custody paperwork (if applicable) at time of appointment.

You will need the following items for registration:

- Your child's original birth certificate.
- Homeowners: Your original deed OR current mortgage statement OR your property tax bill.
- Tenants: CLICK HERE for the required Landlord Affidavit. All renters are required to provide a valid lease, proof of rent payment and notarized affidavit.
- Families living with a Dumont Resident: If a Dumont resident is providing temporary housing to another family, CLICK HERE for the required Form C. In addition to the notarized affidavit, a notarized letter from the resident must also be provided in addition to statement/bills. Please contact us so we can review what documents are required for registration.
- FOUR documents showing family name and Dumont address.
- Medical Documents: All medical forms can be found by clicking Health Office or clicking the links below.

Please note: All medical forms must be completed and uploaded into Genesis at the time of registration. Hard copies of all medical documents must also be dropped off at your student’s school AFTER you have completed your in-person registration appointment and after March 1, 2027.
