OPEN ENROLLMENT *2026-2027* New Student Registration

The Dumont Public School District is now accepting online registrations for children entering grades K-12 for the 2026-2027 school year.
If you are enrolling your child in Kindergarten, please note that the child must be five (5) years old on or before October 1st of the school year in which you are enrolling. There are no exceptions to that date.
Please see district Policy 5112 for more information regarding the required entrance age.

STEP 1: Review the PRELIMINARY INFORMATION
STEP 2: Prepare and Pre-Register
- Gather Required Documents: Before starting, collect the necessary documents. You will need these as part of the registration process. Document requires are listed on the registration page.
- Complete Online Pre-Registration: Click this LINK to complete the pre-registration.
- Submit Required Paperwork: Upload your residency documents into the portal and make an appointment to come in and submit the remaining documents. Students are not considered enrolled until the necessary documents are furnished.
- Enrollment Review and Placement: After pre-registration is complete, enrollment will be reviewed. Placement will be finalized in August. *The Dumont Public School District reserves the right to place a child at any of our elementary schools based on enrollment.*
STEP 3: Schedule your appointment.
- All families will be required to schedule an in-person appointment: You will need to present your child's original birth certificate and any notarized documents or custody paperwork (if applicable) at time of appointment.
What Do I Need For Registration?
You will need the following items for registration:
- Your child's original birth certificate.
- Homeowners: Your original deed OR current mortgage statement OR your property tax bill.
- Tenants: CLICK HERE for the required Landlord Affidavit. All renters are required to provide a valid lease, proof of rent payment and notarized affidavit.
- Families living with a Dumont Resident: If a Dumont resident is providing temporary housing to another family, CLICK HERE for the required Form C. In addition to the notarized affidavit, a notarized letter from the resident must also be provided.
- FOUR documents showing family name and Dumont address.
- Medical Documents: All medical forms can be found by clicking Health Office.

Medical Forms must be submitted before your child starts school. Should you have any questions regarding medical forms, please reach out to your child’s school nurse.
