DHS Class of 2022 Celebrates their Graduation

The DHS Class of 2022 celebrated their graduation from high school on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. Despite the ceremony being conducted indoors because of inclement weather, 195 seniors clad in brown and white were united in excitement. The ceremony featured congratulatory remarks from Mr. Kyle Bennett, Class Advisor,  Mr. James Wichmann, the Principal of Dumont High School and Dr. Maria Poidomani, the Superintendent of Schools. Hope DeCristofaro, the Senior Class President, served as the Master of Ceremonies.

Even though the pandemic disrupted half of the graduates’ sophomore year and periods of their junior year, both the Salutatorian and Valedictorian reflected on the resilience and optimism of the Class of 2022 during their speeches. This year’s Salutatorian, Nikolai Salazar, will be attending Princeton University this fall; and Valedictorian, Gutxi Van Buuren, will be attending Steven’s Institute of Technology.

Congratulations again to the Class of 2022 and their families. We are so proud of all of their accomplishments and wish them good luck in their future endeavors.
