Indicators of Excellence

During our recent NJQSAC monitoring, the district scored well above the 80% mark established by the State in all five areas of review:
  • Governance
  • Operations
  • Instruction & Programs
  • Personnel
  • Fiscal Management                                                   
 
As a result, the Dumont Public Schools has been recognized as a "High Performing" District.

AP College Board LogoAdvanced Placement Information: 
Dumont High School has been recognized twice by the College Board as a recipient of the Annual AP District Honor Roll award. The district continues to research and provide for additional AP course and dual-enrollment opportunities for students to earn college credits in high school.
 
Of the 340 AP exams* administered to 157 students, 81% of the participating students, scored a 3 or higher earning them college credit from most schools.
This was higher than that of the State, which was 71.6%, and also exceeded the Global average of 61.3%.
 
For the 2021 school year, we had 47 students recognized by College Board as AP Scholars.
  • Scholars: 20 students received a grade of 3.0 or higher on 3 or more exams
  • Scholars with Honor: 7 students received a grade of 3.0 or higher on 4 or more AP exams, and had an overall average of at least 3.25
  • Scholars with Distinction: 20 students received a grade of 3.0 or higher on at least 5 exams, and had an  overall average of at least 3.5

DHS school sealDumont High School’s 2021 four (4) year graduation rate of 93.8% is once again was above the State rate of 90.6% and the 2020 five (5) year rate of 95.8% is above the State rate of 92.6%.

  •    25%   plan on attending 2 Year Colleges
  •    1.4%  plan on attending Career Schools
